During the meeting,
representatives of the
Clean Sky 2 programme consulted
Small Air Transport
community, interested in participatng in the programme, about possible
activities in the upcoming programme.
Clean Sky 2 is a EU aeronautical
research and development programme, which aims at developing breakthrough
technogies to improve environmental performance of transport aircraft and
help overcome the "valley of death" between an invention and its
implementation. The programme is a Public Private Partnership, total
investment is estimated to reach ca. €3.6 bn, its duration will be no less
than the parallel programme Horizon 2020.
In Clean Sky 2, in addition to the
previous
Integrated Technology Demonstrators (ITDs),
a higher integration level platforms - Innovative Aircraft Demonstrator
Platforma (IAPDs) will be developed.
The participants discussed the
technologies needed for small air transport development, to be researched
during ITDs projects. Airframe, engine and systems technologies were
discussed in the context of their potential and readiness level.
Further information can be found on the Clean Sky 2 programme
site.
